This page has the most up-to-date information on our Admissions process. 

It is essential that all parents considering an application to The Waldorf School of Tampa Bay read, understand and agree to the terms and process outlined below.  We highly recommend that you begin you journey with us by visiting us for an on campus tour.

2024 - 2025 School Year

  • Applications for preschool through Grade 8 were due on January 31st, 2024, however we are still accepting applications for all programs.
  • We are now on a rolling-admissions track.  Meaning, we accept students as applications come in, and cannot guarantee space for any students at this point. 
  • Please note that there are only a few spots left for Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade.

Grades Summer Camp Program

  • We will be offering different themed camps for seven weeks over June, July and August this summer.  All the information can be found HERE.
  • We are pleased to announce that these camps will be open to non-enrolled students age 6.5 - 13 years by application.
  • Applications for this program are now open, and you can begin by creating an account!
  • You will need to choose the Grade Level of your student prior to choosing the Summer Camp option.  Please choose the Grade they will be in as of August, 2024.
  • There will be an in-person Meet & Greet with teachers prior to acceptance.
  • Summer Camp is open as rolling admissions and always sells out.  We recommend applying as soon as possible.

Steps to Apply for Grades or Early Childhood Enrollment:

  1. Online Application: The first step in the admissions process is to begin the Online Application process.  Simply click Create an Account above.  Upon account creation, you will receive an email containing a verification link. Once your email address has been verified, log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. A non-refundable fee of $250 must be submitted with each application. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.  Do make sure you submit your application and receive a confirmation email.
  2. Enrollment Director Application Review: After receiving your completed application, our Enrollment Director will review it, and decide whether to invite the family to advance to the next stage of the admissions process.
  3. Faculty Application Review:  If the Enrollment Director passes on the application to Faculty, they will review the student's suitablity for their class.
  4. Family Interview: Selected candidates will be invited to a Family/Faculty Meeting. Parents will be contacted to schedule a time for the parents and applying child to interview interview with two faculty members, in-person on our campus.
  5. Student Visitation Day: Subsequent to the admissions interview, Grades 2 and up applicants may be invited to spend one to three days visiting the class they are applying for.  In some cases, and Early Childhood applicant will be invited to spend a half day with a class.  Visitations are not guaranteed and are at faculty's discretion.
  6. Notification of Acceptance: Parents are notified of the admission decision. If accepted, a completed enrollment packet and payment of enrollment and deposit fees finalize enrollment, and are due within one week of acceptance.  There is a final parent meeting or group orientation to discuss school policy, code of conduct, and aligning your family’s home life with our school’s guidelines and expectations.

Appropriate applicants for the Early Childhood (Preschool and Kindergarten programs)

Children who have/will reach their third, fourth or fifth birthday by May 31st, 2024 and are confidently using the toilet, whose developmental, social and learning potentials are such that they may be able to function harmoniously within groups, and whose parents are willing to work with the teachers of the program for the well-being of the individual child, while keeping in mind the needs of all the children within the group.

Early Childhood Programs and Ages:

Preschool:  Slower paced kindergarten programming for 3 year olds (must be at least 3 by 5/31/24). A four-day program until 12pm.  Afternoon Care (pmC) -- lunch, rest time and additional play until 3pm --  is offered for families with true need who have been approved by faculty.   ****Please choose PreSchool or PreSchool with pmC when applying, keeping in mind not all 3 year olds are not approved for pmC.

Mixed-age Kindergarten: Traditional Waldorf kindergarten program for 4 - 6 year olds (must be at least 4 by 5/31/24).  Monday - Friday: 8am - 1pm.  Afternoon Care (pmC) -- rest time and additional play until 3pm --  is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.   ****Please choose Mixed-Age Kindergarten or Mixed-Age Kindergarten with pmC when applying.

Forest Kindergarten:  Outdoor Waldorf program for True Kindergarten students (must be at least 5 by 9/1/24).  Monday - Friday: 8am - 1pm.  Afternoon Care (pmC) -- rest time and additional play until 3pm --  is offered on a first-come, first-served basies.  Please choose Forest Kindergarten or Forest Kindergarten with pmC when applying.

Appropriate applicants for Grades One through Eight

Students who are capable of functioning successfully in groups without requiring exceptional attention for behavioral issues, work habits, or academic limitations.  We look for bright, resilient and well-rounded children ready to expand their capacities for academics, art, music, empathy and their connection and responsibility to the natural world.  Grades children may not have their own personal electronic device, have unrestricted access to any electronic device or participate in gaming, texting/messaging or social media, per our Mindful Media Agreement. (see below)
